Petro-Plug Product Application Sheet

General Information

Petro-Plug is a non-hazardous, non-toxic material which forms an immediate seal to control flammable and-or hazardous leaks and spills. It is a combination of high water-absorption polymer in a bentonite base. The polymer absorbs over 300 times its own weight in water into a micro-structure producing a seal against penetration of fuels and chemicals. Designed to seal off gravity flow of fluids into surface mounted drains, grates, or manholes. Will temporarily stop leaks in drums and tanks. A Petro-Plug 1 lb. tub will repair holes ranging up to 3" in diameter or gashes approximately 1" wide and up to 6" long.

General Information
Material: Premixed Sealant

Capacity: Head pressure can vary between 6' to 10' but can be increased dramatically by strapping with duct or electrical tape or nylon straps. Works on fuels and many chemicals. Seals immediately and sticks to dirty, rusty, greasy surfaces.

Storage/Shelf Life: Petro-Plug has a shelf life of approximately 6 to 8 months or longer if conditions permit. Store above freezing.

Methods of Use: No surface preparation necessary. Take a handful of Petro-Plug and apply directly over the leak. For pressurized leaks, dike to contain the spill.

Waste Disposal Method: Petro-Plug may be disposed of in a solid waste landfill if not contaminated by any other chemical. If Petro-Plug is used to control a chemical leak, dispose of contaminated product according to procedures for the hazardous chemical it was in contact with.
